We need to choose only one story from this website  https://poestories.com/stories.php
The story I chosen is : "The Angel Of The Odd"
This is the summary of the story: The narrator, after consuming a hearty dinner, sits alone in the dining room feeling a bit dull. In an attempt to arouse himself, he drinks Lafitte wine and reads various books and a newspaper. Frustrated by the newspaper article about a man who died from a peculiar accident, the narrator expresses disbelief and anger. Suddenly, a strange and indescribable figure, claiming to be the Angel of the Odd, appears beside him. The figure engages in a conversation, asserting that it is responsible for causing odd accidents. The narrator tries to dismiss the figure but is met with physical blows. Eventually, the figure departs, leaving the narrator relieved. Feeling drowsy, the narrator plans to take a short nap before an important appointment.
However, he repeatedly wakes up to find that the clock has stopped, caused by a raisin stem he had been playing with. Consequently, he oversleeps and misses his appointment. Later, the narrator falls asleep again, only to have disturbing dreams about the Angel of the Odd. He wakes up to find that a rat has taken the lit candle, and soon realizes that the house is on fire. With no escape except through a window, the narrator is saved by a ladder. However, a hog resembling the Angel of the Odd interrupts his descent, leaving the ending unclear.

Act 1 - Setup
Once upon a time, there was a man who enjoyed a quiet evening at home after a hearty dinner.
Everyday he would indulge in food, wine, and reading to relax and unwind from the day's activities.

Act 2 - Conflict
One day, while reading a newspaper, he came across an article about a person who had died from a strange accident.
The man became enraged, believing it to be a contemptible falsehood. Suddenly, a mysterious voice spoke to him, claiming to be the Angel of the Odd. The man was startled and looked around but couldn't see anyone. The Angel mocked him for not seeing him and engaged in a conversation, defending the truth of odd accidents. The man, feeling both pain and vexation, threw a salt-cellar at the Angel but missed. In return, the Angel hit him on the forehead with a bottle. The man, now subdued, listened as the Angel explained his role in causing odd accidents and warned him not to show contempt. The Angel eventually left after offering the man a diluted drink and wishing him well.

Act 3 - Resolution
Until finally, the man, feeling drowsy, decided to take a short nap before an important appointment.
However, when he woke up, he discovered that he had slept for much longer than expected, and the clock had stopped due to a raisin stem lodged in the keyhole.
Realizing he was late for his appointment, he dismissed it as a natural accident. Later that night, the man fell asleep again, only to be plagued by terrifying dreams of the Angel of the Odd seeking vengeance.
He woke up to find that a rat had taken the candle and a fire had broken out in his house. With no way to escape except through a window, the man found himself in a perilous situation.
